+1, you will still need mil eliminators if you go catless. i wouldnt really bother with the headers. they probably wont make a big enough difference to be worth it. if you do though. dont get mac. go with the jba. do you have a pic of your exhaust setup? if not can you please take one? i want to see how youve got the pipes routed under there.

I'll try to take a pic of the set up i have now. Well i'm for sure gonna get the cats taken off now i'll still probably get the headers because my girlfriend wants to get me something for my car for my birthday. So i told her to just get me headers since its something i can put on and hopefully improve sound. Yea i'll probably get the chrome jba's to get a lil chrome under the hood. I'll still like them even if they only improve the sound a little bit. I'm really into the sound of cars if you haven't noticed and i do realize its only a v6. Thats also why i got the 81 Camaro Z28

It will sound like true dual Flows, which sound decent, but are nothing to loose your load over. If you get headers, get JBA, they don't flow quite as well as MAC, but they won't rust out on you either. One thing though, you will "NOT" gain any rwhp header wise as your stock headers flow very well. Sixers have actual headers on them, unlike some other cars which use restrictive exhaust manifolds. So the only gain you'll get is from the fact the piping in the after market headers will flow a hair bit better because they're better made, but that's about it. Don't expect to see any gains, what so ever from them, like at best you'll get 2 rwhp, and I mean that's at best.

Right now my car is true dual and i plan on leaving it that way even with the cats off. I realize there will probably be no power gains off the new headers. I just want it to sound as good as i can get it. Power isn't that big of a deal right now for me with the Stang. When i need power i'll pull out the 81 Z28.

Hate to break it to you, but unless that Camaro is modded, your sixer, in theory, is faster than the 81 Z-28.

Sixer without cats(ecspeciallywithout a crossover)sound like ****. No cats andno crossoverplus flow 40's prepare for a nice rice sound. Anyone that disagree's needs to have their ears checked. And headers will change the tone a little but not much. No replacement for Displacment though
