Default new set up

tell me what you guys would think of this sound wise and power wise...........mac or jba chrome shorties, no cats, no x or h pipe, along with my flowmaster 40's coming out the side. I don't mean to be rude but i don't want to hear about get this or get that i just want to know what you all think of this set up. I mostly car about the sound of it but more power is always good. Do you think shorties + no cats along with what i have will sound good. I was going to get some mac longtubes but i dont feel like having to take my car to a shop because nothing bolts to my existing after cat exhaust. Since its all custom it would be way too much money especially since i have another car undergoing restoration right now.

so your going to put the mufflers off the L/T?

no i'm not getting long tube at all sorry if that was confusing. What i'm thinking of doing is getting mac or chrome jba shorties putting those on then taking my car to a shop and having the cats cut and pipe welded in in their place with rest of my exhaust the way it is. right now i just have 2 flowmaster 40's on a side exit exhaust set up

Do you think it will sound good sitting at idle??? Right now my car sound really good when i get on it through the whole rpm range. Its another story at idle you can hardly tell its running.

Sorry to say it, but shorties aren't gonna be much different than the stock manifold. If you're looking for sound and power, LT's are the way to go.

I realize L/T's are the way to go but i just don't have the time to mess with that right now. Do you think that what i'm thinking about doing will change the sound at idle?

Being catless will help, but the shorties won't.

I would love to have the long tubes but if i got them i would have to take them to a shop tell them to cut the cats off and put the l/t's on and put pipe in from the new headers to the rest of my exisiting exhaust. Not to mention i'll have to get the O2 sensor extinsions for the front O2 and then eliminators for the rear that gets expensive. So you think the shorties will make no difference on the sound of the car?

well it will be a little bit different but hardly much, the catless option is going to make a huge difference and it will be loud idling.....you still will need MIL elims. if your takin cats off
