well i am going to do a 8.8 first...600-800 for that from MPS depending on what model year...i'd hopefully try to get one out of a Mach 1 because they have the 3.55s and i wouldn't worry about gears for a while...then you can get a complete 96-98 Cobra engine from them for $3500...i figured i would save up for that and just bolt it up to my 4R70 for now to get the car running...labor for that at the shop i know would be probably 800-1000...then i would do a used T56 later (from a wrecked Terminator)...those are about 1800 used i think (from MPS)...if i did the tranny at the same time as the engine the labor would be less, but i wouldn't be able to save up that much that quick..so for the near future...8.8...then the stock 4V with my current auto...that would be good for me for a while with full Bassani exhaust (mid lenghts, catted X, dumped mufflers)

with the full exhaust and tuner...hoping for 280-300 whp...not going to do CAI or anything...after i get the T56 (probably when i graduate which is in 2 years) i'm going FI...not sure which direction yet...i just want that awesome Bassani 4v sound for now!...probably will do the 8.8 sometime this summer...then the engine by next spring

oh yea probably going to try to do UCA/LCAs and aluminum driveshaft at the same time as 8.8 too...

and i'm not sure, but i think i might have to get an engine out of a 99 or newer car though...just thought about that...since the pre 99s had mechanical gauge clusters...but yea either way i would have a dealer fix the cluster for me

im not positive but isnt there a law that says you cant put an engine that is older than yours in or somethin like that?

Getin a Remanufactured T-loc is a good idea. I`m actually buying one that was redone for an offroad truck with heavier clutches and all the new heavy duty parts inside so it will stand a beating just as muc h as a truetrac

there still weak, even if you reverse stack the clutches, you wont have to touch the rear with a girdle and true trac

ive broken an 8.8 rear with 280ish rwhp on a stockish mach 1

but i haven't dented mine with 410RWHP. in the wrong (or right) hands, sure you can break it, but you can also make it last.
