5250 [sm=insomnia.gif]

Are you kidding? That is optimal to shift at if your racing, definitely not daily driving.
I usually shift at around 2200rpms-2600rpms.

And not to be a dick but,[sm=icon_rtfm.gif]

The owners manual, shows the optimal shift points for your car.

For racing, I usually just shift when the car "gives up" in the current gear, which is usually just before redline.

Actually on a lot of cars you quit gaining power a ways before red line. When you hit that nuetral zone you start to even lose a little bit.

Yeah, but my tachometer is 1000rpms off so at redline I am losing power.

Bur it all depends on the powerband of your car.
