Does anyone know whats wrong if you have an automatic and whenever you shift from R to D or D to R, the car shakes for a second, then you feel a small clunk as it goes into gear?



Also, Whats wrong if the car idles kinda low and the tach bobs up to normal, then drops low. Also when you turn on the heat and defroster or whatever, the idle drops way down????? any ideas?

 

Well the part about the ilde going down when you turn some thing on sounds like your alt is drawing too much for some reason. Could be a bad cell in the battery, corroded connections, loose belt or bad alt. Have you checked your trany fluid level? Maybe a bad u joint making that clunck.

i not sure but whenver i am parked and i go from D to 2 my car shakes for like 5 seconds and when i go from N to D it makes a wierd very faint like bird chirp noise

 

Check your trans fluid, too low and there will be a delay in shifting, also what does the fluid look like?

That's what I was thinking.

 

I don't really think is all a tranny issue. the clank may be due a bad engine/tranny mount. your tranny isslow gearingso an oil filter (an oil too) change will be helpful.
but also the rpmup anddown it maybe the throttle position sensor thatisstarting to "notfollow" the tb...
