slighly off topic, can anyone find a dyno of a 100% stock car then one of the silencer removed? been reading more on it and people on 3.8 and v6 power are saying you will loose power with it, [&:]
It wouldn't be enough to make up for the variability in dyno runs.

So which MAC CAI should I go with, Straight shot or fenderwell?
i heard that the fenderwell system had better performance gains then the straight shot because it sucks in cooler air

yes u get what u pay for, the performance gains all depend on the filter but the quality of the pipe is what can cause u to run into problems for just as simple as a blurred shine to chrome flaking off and gettting into your engine
its not going to flake off and get into your engine its not chrome on the inside. i got mine off ebay and it looks great

I'm going with the straight shot simply because I don't want to crawl under the car to clean the filter (big pain in the butt IMHO) and once you're moving it still gets cool air.

Thanks for the info guys, I've been debating it for a while. Do they both add the same sound to the car? I've heard some sweet sounding Stangs with CAI, and all of them said they had MACs, so now all I have to decide on is straight shot or fenderwell.

As far as power gains, it's a big waste of $150. You'll get like 2 rwhp from it. And those of you saying you felt a performance gain, get your heads out of your asses, you can't feel 2 hp. It's in your head since you want to feel that your $150 was well spent.

You can get one on ebay for $50, the only thing is it won't have a CARB sticker on it, like a $150 MAC or BBK one will, and won't be emissions legal. So you're basically paying $100 for a sticker.

go with the straight shot, it dosent take in hotter air... it has a heat shield thats blocks it from the engine and it gos over the fenderwall hole where the cold air comes in. so there is not really a difference in heat... STRAIGHT SHOT

I got one of the intakes from ebay for 50 bucks shipped to me...Works amazing..looks good too, and its the same concept design as any of the high dollar ones....so you guys can go ahead and say that you get more of a power gain off spending $200 on an intake...

what those people "feel" is better throttle response. just gives you the illusion that you gained like 10HP+

thank you sum1 i agree with, an extra 100 dollars is stupid for something that does the same thing
