Default CAI

I have been looking into adding this feature to my car. I have seen them go for $20 on ebayall the way up to $250. Would the cheaper ones be of any quality or does the 'you get what you pay for' apply here? Thanks for the help!

They are all of limited benefit performance-wise, barring any major exhaust improvements. That being said, I nonetheless installed K&N FIPK II CAI's in a '04 V6 anda '00 S-10, and a C&L CAI in my '03 Mach 1.

yes u get what u pay for, the performance gains all depend on the filter but the quality of the pipe is what can cause u to run into problems for just as simple as a blurred shine to chrome flaking off and gettting into your engine

i just got an MAC straight shot CAI and I LOVE IT!! it was $179.95 from americanmuscle.com with free shipping. I noticed a little difference in accelerationbut it deff sounds better(not a huge difference but at most rpm more muscle, smooth sound) i would deff reccomend getting one, especially because you will get to work on your car my first mod and you do get what you pay for... i wouldn't spend $10,000 ona(for example)car and then put a $40 CAI in it... the more expensive ones will holod out better, especially in looks, the shiny on the ebay 1's dissappear after about 6 months...

slighly off topic, can anyone find a dyno of a 100% stock car then one of the silencer removed? been reading more on it and people on 3.8 and v6 power are saying you will loose power with it, [&:]
