Mine popped out with a little bit of force. Yank the hell out of it, trust me, I don't think you have the strenght to lift a tranny out of it's mounts by the shifter. That little bead of RTV isn't that tough.

i agree with forplay, after some driving the transmission should produce enough heat to expand things and make them be a little more forgiving. maybe not though

btw its probably not too great that your transmission is moving around a bunch, have you checked your transmission mount

doesn't the tranny mount have a rubber damper on it to reduce vibration

Hit the sides of the shifter base with a piece of hard wood and a hammer. Sometimes shifting hard through the gears with the bolts out will also break it loose.

Knocking the shifter from side to side is how I got mine off..

wtf... This morning I got up went outside and actually poped it off by accident. I dont get it but the trans moved some before because I was pryin the hell out of it with a crobar. Besides that wow what a difference, it actually feels like Im driving a real stick. I believe that trash stock one ruined my trans 9 months ago.I had trouble engaging gears & heard pieces hitting, now its like a knife through butter.
