Default Engine help

Alright, I think I'm going to find a 4.6L engine and put in my car. My big questions are, what all do I need to make this work? I have a 2000 V6, with no real performance mods except for flowmasters and K&N. Will I need a new rear end and a new transmission? What else do I need? Thanks in advance for the help guys, you all know a lot about cars, I wish I knew half as much as you guys in here.

i really dont know what else you need but i do know that everyone will agree and say that "it isn't worth the money to drop a 4.6 into your car. you are better off selling the v6 and paying the extra 3G for a GT" i forget who said that

I'm not absolutely sure of what you need for the sawp, but I'm sure this question has been asked an answered before.
The search button is there for a reason.

I don't know how much swapping with a GT will cost, but with the 8 cylinder insurance you are better off supercharging your sixer. Personally, that's what I would do.

it proally would be cheaper to buy a gt but he proablly has put a lot of time into the car and cares about it. i dont know if it would fit but could you put a 5.0 instead of a 4.6 in your car?

98, I have no idea, I'm just looking for any info I can get. I know there is a 4.6L for sale over in the for sale board, that's what got me to thinking.

the easiest way to do it would be just to get a gt doner car that you can put beside your car and just switch out pieces 1 by 1

A PI 4.6 has more power stock than a 5.0. I believe the 5.0's had somewhere between 220 and 230 bhp, and the 99-04 4.6's have 260. The 5.0 is kinda overrated as some god of an engine for some reason. Although I'm sure if Ford made a 5.0 Stang right now it'd have well over 300hp.

Youre also gonna need the wiring harness, ECU, suspension components and prolly a few more things that Im missing.

The 5.0 is held in such high regards because of how easy and cheap it is to build up. And Im almost positive the Interceptor concept had a 400hp 5.0
