Get one, it will nicly help your accelleration. PM hotrodsnbooz (a site administrator) he has a V6 with one, and a torque converter swap, he can give you a lot of good info on one.

Ya but if you don't install it yourself it will cost an extra $200-$300 in labor.

I'd pay to have it installed, a transmission is not something you want to F up due to lack of experiance.

Would a shift kit reduce the jump in acceleration and make it more gradual? What I mean is...from a dead stop you floor it and for a split second or so it isn't accelerating much, then it just jumps all the way to high RPM's. I'm sure you know what I mean.

No, it improves efficiency and aggressiveness during shifts. A higher stall torque converter helps with what you're talking about. A shift kit is kind of like a short shifter for manuals, only they improve performance more by making the shifts more firmer which reduces lag during shifting, and causes the speedo to jump a little more after the shift.

the one on ebay is way way overpriced. you can get a transgo for 115 or so from summitracing. you need one for the 4R70W tranny. i would buy it.
