IMO the confederates did not specificly stand for slaveryas much as they stood for state's rights. The flag was seldom flown in the war anyway. Just because someone displays the flag does not mean they are racist at all. They are just proud of being southern.

Rofl, and the confederates come out. I really do love the eloquent grammer that can spring forth out of you people.
"Right on bro! Confederate flag doesnt represent slavery it just simply represents the south. If people would do some research on what it actually means then we wouldnt be having this discussion! Its like the whole **** thing, people assumes that just because your german your a ****. There are way to many sterotypes."
Let me get this straight, having a confederate flag doesn't make you a rascist and not all germans are *****. If I displayed a **** flag on my car, what kind of image do you think that would connotate? The **** party stood for death and destruction, the Wehrmacht is another story. And another thing, how is the confederate flag a source of pride, you boys lost the war. Robert E Lee is not a hero, nor Stonewall Jackson, they are what we call "traitors". I understand the whole "state's rights" thing but cmon, the South left because the United States government wanted to abolish slavery and they didn't want to go along with it.
You can display your flag as often as you like and I'm glad we have that right here, but just remember that your pride makes you look like a fool. Once you grow up and *gasp* go to college, you'll reallize that a little bit of education really does help.

you must be a history teacher or something, the whole discussion about the flag was how blacks think that whites owe them which we dont owe them the sh*t on our shoes, the other thing was blacks can never be racists on whites then can call you anything they want=still not racist, i call a black person a n*gger, coon or something else and im obviouslya racist because well i guess im just a "little white boy", but then again everyone is treated equally=my a$$
