im not sure if the t-lok will work off of gt, i dont think it will since we have a 7.5 and they have a 8.8

i think he was asking if he can just put the whole 8.8 on the back.

the stock 8.8 on a GT isn't much better. they can go bye bye at 400RWHP with hard launches.

No drag radials and no power adders and probably stay with the stock gearing cause I like the gas mileage. If I was going to race much I would go with a better diff and gears but since I'm not I do't see the point in it. I just want to hook up better than it does now when I do get on it and I really hate that wheel hop. Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

well a girl in one of my classes at school her dad owns a autobody shop and they went to a scene of a wreck and picked up a gt that rear ended a truck and the front is all fed up and the interior is bloody but it has a good 8.8 rear end withaftermarket tubular contol arms would i beable to bolt it up to mine her dad said i could probobly have it he just had to call the insurance company of the guy who owned the car and if everything is ok then if i want it i can come and take it out before they ship it to the JunkYard

the explorer has the 8.8 too. cheap way to get 3.73s for a GT


you should be fine with the t-lok if you don't plan on getting stickie tires or a power adder.

oh i forgot to ask its a 06 gt and i have a 04 3.9 will the end from the 05+ cars fit under the new edge bodys or are they differant lenghs

Not certain, so dont quote me...but I believe the S197 has a wider wheel base, and the rear end wont bolt up because of this. Not only that, the chasis are completely different. I highly doubt they are just gonna swap out..

99& sure the S197 axle won't bolt up to an SN95...the widths are different and the shock mounting points are different too...and the brakes are bigger
