Default Ford T-Locks any good?

Hey guys (& girls) I'm about to order a Ford T-Lock for my car. I'm tired off one leggers and wheel hop. My question is are they good enough for an occasional run down the drag strip? Probaly 2-3 times in a year is all. I can't really afford anything better at this time but if they are junk I'll wait till I can get a better one. Thanks

I dont have a ton of personal experience with them, but I do know that mustangman02232 and cobra232 do and both of them will advise against getting one.

mustangman02232 has experience with running his mouth like he personally formed his opinions. if you aren't doing hard launches at every stoplight and don't run sticky tires, i think a tlok will suit you fine.

It'll just be normal driving and maybe a few times a year at the drag strip with normal street tires.

How much power do you plan on having, though? Cause if you're gonna go with a lot of power I don't see wasting money on something you're just gonna break in the future anyway.

if you aren't doing crazy high rpm launches, a t-lok can be good at 300+RWHP. a guy in the local stang club has a 350RWHP TT v6 with a t-lok. he ran it for awhile (don't know how long exactly), but he busted the t-lok with a nice high launch on drag radials.

An 8.8 rear end will bolt up to the V6.
