Having power "everywhere" is a bad thing. You have a short to ground. That's why your fuse is blowing. Somewhere on your car a power wire for the fuel pump has rubbed against metal and shorted. Find and repair the short, and the car is fixed. Whatever you do don't replace the fuse with a higher amp fuse. You will possibly put a whole new meaning to the term "fire it up."

no i mean there is not always power but there is power were it should be when it should be. does anybody know of any computers or other things taht the wires run through b4 they go to the pomp. i dont even know why it matters though. i mean it has to be a short! the fuse is blowing. btu why is it only doing it when i try to start the car? why is it not blowing when i put in a new fuse?

unless he does have the wrong amp fuse in the first place. put in the factory size fuse. but i do agree w/ you because if you do put a higher than factory fuse in and it and it doesnt blow and you do havea short that could mean byebye car.

alright, not sure what you are using but it should be a 20a fuse..its #14
since its a 20a i doubt your using anything smaller so i think its the pump. i know you replaced it but maybe a wire didnt get connect right.

hey man.... i had an intrepid long ago.... man i miss that back seat... but back on topic... the previous owner had done some driving in water or something .... but the wires were totaly corroded... they looked like the battery acid chunks you get on your battery... and it would do the same thing.... I really hope that isnt the problem because it gets expensive to find/fix, but ... im just throwing it out there for ya

Because the circuit is not hot until the key is turned on. You havea short to ground between the fuse box and fuel pump.
