Default RPM Limiter and racing

I have a 99' V6 mustang, 5 speed. I added duel exhaust but other than that its stock. I have always been scared to rev the RPM's above red line. My friend said that the car limits the RPM's electroically. Does anyone know if this is true on my year and what RPM is the limit? Also does the limit shut the fuel off or does it kinda bounce off the max RPM? Is there any possibility i will blow my engine by hitting the limit? I dont have much knowledge about this so sorry for being so crude.

Secondly, i am going to take my car to a drag track. Its an eighth mile. Does anyone know what are the best shift points? What should i have my RPM's at to get the quickest start off the line and also going into second and third? Any tips are helpful. Thanks.

Whats split ports? Is there any chance of damaging my engine by reving it that high?

im not going to launch at 5800 rpm. i know that will spin the tires. i want to know what rpm is the best for the quickest starts and also if i rev it to 5800 when shifting to second or third or just reving it will that damage the engine?

for the quickest starts, go between 1500 and 2500. shift a little bit after redline, arround 5375 is what i try to hit and works really good for me

If you are just sitting there and revving, you will only be able to go to 4000rpms and then it will just bounce there. It will be different while driving though.
