Damn 150? I might as well buy another chin spoiler and just lay it on top. <= lol. Mines real beat up. The guy that replaced my windshield(annoying stupid crack) took off the metal on top of the door (the part thats is right above the glass and then he was able to just kinda lift it, it's connected to the windshield sparyers.

they are really expinsive for what they are. mines cracked too. they just pop off. there are not bolts or anything. you just have to be very very very carefull not to crack it when you do try to take it off. when i was takin mine off i cracked the other side too. so now i have 2 cracks.they arent really noticible but they still bug me.

I usually use a protectant/sealent, like the stuff you use on your interior, every time I wash. It has retained its original color to this day. But if your is faded you can try that or use tire stuff like cobra232 mentioned.

well you were right, there are 2 or 3 screws holding it down. i didnt remember those being there. so here is my quick how to w/o actually doin it because i didnt want to mess w/ it right now.

1.you need to lift both wiper arms up and pop them into that position

2. pull the small tab taht holds the wiper onto the motor out then pull the arm up. repeat for the other arm

3. now lift the hood and prop it up. move to the back of the engine bay and pull off the weather stripping on top of the firewall. you can set it aside.

4. look for the 2 or 3 screws holding the plastic on. there should be 1 on each end and maybe 1 in the middle. if you cant find them carefully run your fingers along the little channel and feel for the screws.
5. this part is the hard part, you must very careully lift up starting where the windshiled is on the whole piece and pull 1 of the corners out from under the a-pillar. it can be tricky but thats about it. there are a few clips under the plastic helping keep it down. these will require a little force to get off but if your careful you should be able to do it w/o cracking the panel.

now im not sure on this but i think if you used a heat gun or hair dryer or just did this all on a hot day it would be better because the plastic would bend easier. if you do use a heat gun though be very careful not to melt the plastic.

The key to them not turning gray is to use Leather cleaner on them. That's what I do to mine everytime I wash it. I use the crap youre supposed to put on the dash to keep it from cracking.

fixed... [:'(]

I think if you look around at strut tower brace install instructions from various manufacturers (max motorsports comes to mind), some of them will have directions for removing the plastic piece, as it required to install a stb.

and why does the blue mustang in the pics have "air bag" where the vin is supposed to be? [&:] is it one of those weirdass 3.9 liter motors? [8D]
