Default Header gaskets.

Do headers have gaskets? I just bought some LT's off a sponsor site so im still wating for them in the mail and I was wondering if these things had gaskets? If not, some kind of high temp silicon gasket maker or something? Oh yeah, and how exactly do you install MIL eliminators?

If you bought headers new gaskets should come with them but they will be ****y, i dont know if they make them for v6s but there are those soft aluminum gaskets thatwont leak, see if you can find some of those.

p.s.- your stock ones wont work they will come off with the manifolds or stick to the block when you take them off you cant use old gaskets.

the mustang gaskets are very good stock gaskets, if they are in one piece then u can reuse them if not u have to go to ford and just get a replacement set of gaskets

Dont re-use your gasket. Go buy some replacment ones. When putting on headers you dont just bolt them on, well kinda. You bolt them on, let the engine warm up/cool down. Then you losen the bolts a little bit, tighten them let the engine warm up, do this untill you cannot see or feel any leaks. Just because they are in one peice doesnt mean there good. IMO gaskets are like head bolts.

yeah it's not really a good idea to reuse any gaskets, for what it will cost to get new gaskets is easily worth the time spent taking everything apart again because you tried to reuse gaskets and they leaked...just my opinion

You can't really reuse a stock gasket anyways, it just falls apart when you take the stock headers off, or it sticks to either the heads, or headers, or both.

So yes you have gaskets.

When i did my LT's my gaskets were fine, they're metal and didn't stick to anything. They were $7 each from ford so I got new ones, just so I wouldn't have to worry about a leak later on.
