Need quick information
Posting in the proper forum
I am looking at a 1995 mustang 6cyl. (3.8L automatic). Engine light is on and they say the diagnostic check shows that it needs transmission sensor(s). It's a daily driver and has no problems other than the odometer going out.
Tell me about these "sensors". What are they, what causes them to go out, where can I get them, how much, and how easy are they to replace?
Also, they don't know if this car was fixed for the recall that was back in 2001.It has 140k miles, so can I assume that the engine wasn't effected if it hasn't been replaced/fixed during the recall?
The car is priced to sell. I just need a cheap, reliable car to keep me out of the rain on my motorcycle
By the way - the car is in immaculate condition. Perfect interior and exterior.

Sounds like someone unpluged it from the trans , it controls the odometer.
Look and see if it's unplugged. if it's in there, then a new one.
