Theres a whistling noise coming from the front driver side of my car(kinda like a tea kettle going off) and it starts at about 20mph. I have an 02 3.8 slightly modded 5spd with 81,000 miles. What do you guys think/ has this happend to your car? My guess is it might be a bearing...

 

do u have a CAI, it could be the intake takin in air

 

maybe an exhaust leak, i have 1 right now. mine kinda sounds like a sprinkler

 

i have a leak but it more so pops and ticks not whistles, but it is a possibility

 

I do have a cold air intake, but it's not that. I'm pretty sure it's not an exhaust leak either. Could it be the rear end? I have Ford Racing Gears 3.73..i've heard something about the 7.5 rear ends being a little noisy??? has any one else heard that before?

 

I know I get a whistle out of my CAI, but gears don't whistle, they whine.

good point, but this is a whistle like noise in addition to my CAI. It's a lot deeper than the intake whistle. and nice car ryan!

 

Damn, who here doesnt have an exhaust leak? Stupid ford, oh well, hurry up headers.
