Physically it'll fit(well those 4 valves are a tight squeeze) but the work involved in putting a V8 into a V6 isn't worth it. You should just sell your car and buy a GT/Cobra or you can always build the V6...I hear from like the 2 guys that have actually done any work to them that they like FI[&:]

The 4 cam would fit (it's the same as the Cobra motor).
But he's right, not worth the work to swap motors from V6 to V8. Just mod the V6.

I'm puting a 4.6 in mine as soon as I get ahold of a decent donor. I work at a salvage yard, so I get a motor and trnny complete with wiring and ecu for less than $500. It's not a difficult swap, I've had plenty of friends do it. Just figure out if it's cost effective FOR YOU. For me, it is, I just have to order new long tubes and the rest I get at work. So for me, if the car shows up when i'm ready, I get the deal.

v6-v8 swaps are not that difficult I don't know why I keep hearing that. Like was said if your situation makes it financially plausible (ie can you do the work yourself) it can be a good option, I've done it more than once with great results.

Techinically speaking you could drop a Corvette engine into your car if you "REALLY REALLY" wanted to.

i disagree.

they are very involved and extremely hard to do for people without alot of experience.

the entire harness needs changed which means you need to rip out the dash to get the old harness out and put the new one in. i believe the CCRM module needs changed. the ECU. the guage cluster. the PATS. the radiator, the break booster. the fuel system (if going from 98 V6 car to 99+ V8 or returnless car. the trans if going to a 4.6 bell.

the average person will be into $4000 to do the swap for just a 2V 4.6 with only 230rwhp and most likely 1 week or more down time depending on if the person has everything needed. then the insurance company needs notified of the V8 swap so they can adjust to V8 premiums or if you don't and get caught it's insurance fraud.

not worth it IMO unless you are doing an 03/04 cobra engine or a 5.4L DOHC navigator engine
