have you tried putting the stock setup back on? no point in buying a new mass air flow if it's not the problem. someone earlier said they had the same problem, and they bought a different intake, and the problem was solved. i really don't see how, but i'm going to take his word for it. put your stock setup back on and see if it's fixed before you take a chance of wasting your money.

Had the same problem with mine in my 02 5spd. Just send it back and get a fenderwell intake from MAC or BBK.......K&N CAI's they just suck i've heard many complaints from other people that have had them

i doubt the screen has anything to do with it. i have the stock intake and i took the screen out. put the stock intake back and see if it fixes it. don't buy anything else just yet.
i called k&n they told me i dont need to do anything.....they saidunhook the negative on the battery and drive it for 200 miles[&:]......but i really dont wanna drive around with my car doing this so im not sure what i wannado[&:]
