as an owner of a GT and V6, dont even trade ur V6 in for a GT, take the money it will cost you in insurance and mods and get a turbo kit... we arent making much more power at the wheels than ur 6's. get a turbo, intercool it and eat rice and slomaros for dinner. the problem is we only have 2V's per cylinder, so that doesnt respond well to mods, the little 4 bangers that are packing 3 or 4V (vtec) respond better to mods. dont get discouraged, as a gt owner ive lost to many civics if i wanted a fast car i would have got the GTO with 350-400hp, but i wanted a fast car that looks good.. you think those civic drivers are pround of how their car looks? thats why they make em fast for the "i may be ugly but im faster" defense, id rather take a 15 second V6 sexy mustang over any honda civic ANY DAY

how much on average is the jump?
Insurance? Well for me, insurance is $230 for the sixer, and I got quoted for the same year/color GT and it went to $350 a month which is *** rape, and 3 other companies gave me the same quote give or take a few.
I'm almost 19 and have a clean driving record, no accidents (reported), tickets, etc...

As for my six situation, it has 50k miles on it now, I figures as college goes along I will put money into new heads, ported intake, cam, and a blower, making aroung 350hp then run this crap into the ground (120k miles etc... no beating on it) and then after I get my first good job...

This will be mine. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

actually what?

that seems right according to my quotes

18-350

22-319

As you hit 21 your rates begin to decrease.

actually its 25 bud, but it depends on your driving record.. dont get pulled over and each year ur rates go down, plus if youre in school u get an additional discount. just dont drive like an idiot

yeah a sixer can mod their car but unless they supercharge, most stock GTs will beat a six or at least give them a good run. i'm [might be] putting in a chip and just going to be happy for what i have and save my money.
It depends on what year GT ur racing, i think a nicely modded edge with out supercharging, could beat a stock sn95 GT.

yeah ur right. but (please correct me if i'm wrong) an sn95 is one of the slowest GTs made and a six would have to have at least full bolt ons to beat it.

my insurance dropped at 21 and it will drop again at 25, the drop at 25 will be more dramatic than the drop at 21 though...just my experience
