Default Heating/Cooling

This summer I had the AC on and all of a sudden it all went to defrost (including the heat), which for the summer is fine. I live in upstate NY so it is cold here. Now that it is the middle of November I'm running my heat and it only comes out of the defrost. I want the vent and floor to run as well but I get nothing....Does anyone have any idea what the problem is with this thing? Fuse, chip, hose, plug, anything? My feet are freezing. If it is a major problem I'll just grin and bare it, its only the winter beater.

the dampers in the heater ducts are controlled by engine vacuum so look for a loose vacuum line under the hood over near the passenger side where the heater hoses go thru the firewall to the heater. it could also have come loose under the dash at the back side of the control **** too.

Oh I also forgot to mention that it only blows on high. I have no other levels of lower amounts of blowing air. Would that change your answer to my question.

no that doesn't change my answer. sound like you need to get the control switches checked out if all this stuff is acting up.
