Default HELP! WITH A SIMPLE WIRE PROBLEM..

I have a 94 3.8 and just put a new engine in it. drove fine for a wile then all the sudden died on me wile i was driveing. i looked under the hood, i have fuel, but no spark. put on a new coil, and dist. still nothing. it will crank but wont start. i found out part of the wire harness was melted on the exhaust.. two or three of the wires grounded out. i fixed the wires, and checked the coil with the mulimeter. i have power to the coil but no spark.. does any one know what it could be? im thinking maybe the ignition control moduel or engine computer.. the ecu dosent smell burnt or anything,,please help if you know..
