Hi i have a 07 4.0 mustang and i keep having this problem, its my second time, ill be driving around and my car will be in the normal heat range. and when i park it and get out i have coolant that exploded and is dripping off the front of my car..im not doing anything thats not normal, and i just keep losing tons and tons of coolant. Ive had the car for 4 months now, brand new. The cap is still securely in place and nothing seems unusually. but i do have the coolant that dried up all over the engine.

How full are you keeping the coolant over flow tank? Are you running the A/C or heat at the time? City or highway driving? Being it's so new, have you contacted the dealer you bought it from?

 

No im not running a/c or heat at anytime that it happens, its alot of city driving, havent contacted em yet cuz i figured it'd happen once and just stop. Im not sure about the over flow tank tho.

 

Definitely check with the dealer.

Even if the overflow tank was full, there should be a rubber hose connected to in to it pushed overflow all the way down the tube to the bottom of your car so it just drips out on the street.

 

o yea well like it comes out in huge quantities and is usually all over the hood and dripping down the headlights.

so far in 2 instances ive lost about 2 inches worth of coolant

 

wow, that cant be good for your paint and everything. I would definitely take it in if you can. Or check on some other forums if you dont get an answer here.

 

yea ill definately take it in, im sure its covered under the warranty.

Welcome to the forum also theres a section in here where is only for 05-07 maybe they can help you a lil more sometimes since you guys have the same body style, but heres a lot of ppl that are well prepare to answer your questions

make the dealer fix any probs with the paint since coolant is very corrosive to paint. should be covered under any warranty, good luck.
