the best thing to do is top off your oil change with 1 quart of Lucas oil conditioner. it eliminates dry starts

as for breaks the stockers are really not bad but you can get a GT upgrade front or a cobra upgrade all the way around. they are available from www.gefracing.com new

or

www.stangparts.com used

there is no need to spend too much money on the breaks. put the money towards horsepower mods. BTW welcome

for more info on power mods try
www.3.8mustang.com

or www.v6power.net

these are great sites with guy's that have alot of power running through their 3.8 stangs

I think the 00 v6 stangs are closer to 200 since my 98 has 180 stock. You could always check around the internet and look for specs to find out.

the stock hp on a 99'+ is like around 190, but like for a 00' v6 automatic only about 140 hp gets to the wheels the rest is lost, what im trying to see is how much hp gets to the wheels in the mtx version. Im assuming its gonna be 10 - 15 hp more, since mtx transmissions tend to get more hp to the wheels since theres less moving parts. (i think)

pre-99 auto V6 only get about 140-150 hp to the wheels...99+ autos are still looking at around 180ish hp stock

by the way your 98 has about 150 hp stock as well

"99+ autos are still looking at around 180ish hp stock"

to the wheels? im not saying you are wrong but a loss of 10hp on an auto doesnt seem right, id assume something like 170ish for the auto, and maybe like 180ish for the mtx

also if i wanted to get the mac performance long tube headers would i also have to get there cat-back system for it to connect properly to the h pipe or would any catback connect correctly to the hpipe

not even close to 180 to the wheels, sorry. most t5 99+'s will be 160-165rwhp, and autos 145-155rwhp. and then torque around 190-205. i wont even talk about single ports...that gets ugly
