Default '89 T-5 to '88 A4LD swap...Converter connection?

First, yes I know A4LD sucks, but it's all I've got.
Had a trashed 2.3L '88 with good auto, and picked up a nice 2.3L '89 with bad 5 speed.
It's for the wife, who only drives 5 miles to work each way, and she wants auto.

Swap was not too bad, but electrical has me stumped.
'88 A4LD has a 2 prong plug and a 4 pin plug.
'89 T-5 has a 2 pin plug, and a 4 pin plug.
Looks like 4 pin plugs are the same, and from what I gather, is reverse light, and neutral saftey switch.
However, the T-5 2 pin plug also seems like it is for reverse or neutral safety switch?

Initially, I thought I could just swap connector ends, and plug in the '89's 2 pin plug into the '88's prongs.
More research and it looks like that will not work, as the A4LD plug is for lockup converter?.?.

Trouble is, I see no plug or place to connect the lockup convertor to the '89's wiring harness?

Any clues or tips on the best way to connect the A4LD to the T-5 wiring harness?

Thanks!
