I have a question for you guys. my battery light comes on every now and then, but my voltage gauge does not drop at all. Is this just a faulty light or is a because the alternator is starting to go. The car 53k miles on it. I don't have any extras hooked up to the car outside of a radar detector and cell phone charger. No problems starting or anything the light just seems to come on. Usually when I take my foot of the gas and coast when I am getting ready to stop.

 

I'd have a charging system check done just to be sure. Try Auto Zone, it's supposed to be free.
