There used to be a guy at our track with 2 bugs (beetles) and both were low 10 second cars.

Will the split port manifold bolt direct on to a `94-97 engine?

nope. you need splitport heads also as well as the TB and manifolds and a modified fuel rail. you can get most of the parts pretty cheap from a junkyard and a modified fuel rail from rpm mustangs

you will need new headgaskets and headbolts too.

50 hp gain for about $500-$700 if you do the work yourself

Hell, might as well get the heads and intake ported and polished while you're at it, and sub in a more aggressive cam and get maximum gain with the swap.

yea he might have a sick bug man or make one the car is cheap but they just use nice big turbos. you can make anything go fast but is it worth it? that bug wont be streetable but the cobra is. and who wants to be proud of a bug? lol

and for the guys im pretty sure the girl would rather get in a stang than a bug. either way u wanna beat the bug wit ur stang??? not gonna happen if it is hooked up like hes saying. go get a crate TT it and then try. it would take you a lot of moeny n time to upgrade ur stang to stay with that thing if he is doing what he is saying.

This kid always says mustangs suck. I asked him why and he went into this story about how he is going to tune his old school bug to 250 horse and beat a 650 horse cobra with radials. When I told him the cobra would smoke him he started to flip out on me. I figure I should invite him to the track and kick him with my 95 3.8 5spd, But first I need sugestions on mods geared for torgue so I can be sure to take him. So far my 95 only has a cold air intake and performance muffler. Any help would be apreceated.
For 1/4 mile acceleration, gears.

Limited-slip axle will also help traction, no one-leg wheel spin when you get angry and nail it. Love mine.

You can do the T-Loc and gears at the same time to make it cheaper to install.

Remember, if you got the $$, you can even make a Winnebago fast...

Even with 250HP its stilla bug...

Your car automatically wins the "coolness" factor.

I agree those bugs look ugly, but I think his 1.6 liter will be slow.
