Mac is the onlny company that makes LT's for us so you would need a H pipe by them as well

Actually I've heard the opposite. It's harder to take the stock ones off than to install the new ones.

I got banned from 3.8Mustang because I said that I might want to make an EV1 to EV6 kit for all the splitport guys in 94-98 Mustang :P Some sponsor got all butthurt because I might be a compedator in about a year when I can actually afford to do something. You guys can check out the whole story over there. Basicly the people are cool but the moderators and sponsors are d*cks. I didnt even say a price I could offer them at because I didnt even know the part numbers yet. Never had a problem here!

Anyways, for 99-04 Mustangs the shorties are worth it because they are 3 into 1 instead of a log style. But why not just get yourself a set of 94-98 3-1 style headers, pick up your extra 2-4hp and adapt your EGR tube by cutting it before the EGR and use a peice of turbo tubing to bridge the gap?

Its easy, its very cheap and you get your slightly better hp and sound.

I highly suggest checking the firecone in your 94-98's because mine had a lot of welding overlap that I took out with a carbide burr to help with flow. I also had my ceramic coated. The only way an aftermarket shorty header would be any better than stock 94-98 is if it had substantially larger primaries in which you would have to alter the exhaust port of the head, otherwise I see no real gain of aftermarket shorties. (Note: I have not dyno proven any of this... WHAT?! Do you think im made of money!!!) lol

Anyways get a couple close up pictures of 94-98 Headers, compair them to aftermarket shorties and that will give you your answer.

shorties are worth it if your stock ones cracked like mine. AND if you live somewhere where LTs are not street legal. i'm just going to get some BBK shorties (i have BBK high flow cats sitting in my room right now waiting to be put on at the same time with the HF cats) and have new midpipes fabbed up with my HF cats. i don't really care if i lose out on 5-10 hp stock or 20-30 hp with FI. not worth it to me for the hassle. if i had a 4.6 on the other hand i would be going full Bassani with mid-length headers, O/R X and catback. screw emissions if you have a GT/Mach/Cobra. they sound better without cats. 6ers don't sound that good to me cat-less so i'll keep some HF's on there.

Our stock exhaust manifolds are only a weak point at about 350hp. So unless you are making that power level, shorties are a waste. Even then, shorties won't give you more than 2-3hp due to less restriction.
LTs on the other hand will net you a little in N/A trim once you reach that power level (maybe 10-12), but will really shine with a power adder.
