Default RE: cam???

opens and closes the valves

the rollers ride on the cam
the rod sit on the rollers and rush the rockers up
the rockers get pushed up and are a lever which pushes the springs down and open the valves

a new cam has a different angle of the lopes/lobes something like that which determin how quickly the valves open and close and for how long the valves are open and closed

unless you can pick up a book and read directions. Why doesnt anyone on here install there own parts? Im 17 and i have done everything by myself. Just go pick up some books, and read. then get one just for your engine and follow directions

It's not really the cam that's the hard part, but the damn heads when it comes to swaps, because everything must be set just right, and torqued down just right so it all works the way it suppossed to.

the reason cams are a bitch is cause you have to degree it and time it right. and inan engine with a distibuter it is even more of a hassle. no big deal really, if you know what you're doing
