if you buy one, do you still need the H pipe adapter or should an exhaust shop do it for you? (they charge for some piping?)

u dont need and H but the catback can be bolted on the stock Y pipe.Its preffered u do an H or an X ,it will sound nicer and will benefit in near future when u start moding
