Default RE: Bouncing problem

Sorry I dont have any pics.

Mine actually happened abruptly and now every time I try to lauch or just get some power down it get throw all around after the "Roll" of the differential.

A problem I had earlier is that the spring was sitting 1/4 of the way off of the purch on the lower controll arm. After the first time it did this the spring went back on the purch a little more but its just such a horrible launch.

No car should do what mine does.

So im changing the whole suspension, I already have some of it.

*Tubular Upper and lower controll arms
*Mach1 springs
*Mach1 struts
*Mach1 rear swaybar.

The mach1 stuff is to match the front suspension.

Make sure to check where the controll arms mount to the body and make sure they are not pulling the torque boxes away.

The 95' Cobra I got my rear end from and pushed its torque boxes into the cab about 1/4"
Not a good scenero.

In 1965 when the first mustang came out. Wheel hop was a dreaded thing, Because they had leaf springs, the cure was traction bars. New mustangs don't have leaf springs so, control arms and shocks control wheel hop. Because six mustangs have such crappy suspension to begin with , wheel hopis more prevalent, and any car will wheel hop in reverse.
Usually, wheel hop on an under powered car , like the V6 mustang, is a Shock thing, get some stiffer shocks and the problem will go away. A 4 link works the best. Or sell your 6 and buy a GT.
The guy at Ford who said, "lets make a V6 mustang†should be taken out and shot.
The Mustang GT is a great platform to build a Mustang into a great car. The V6 Mustang is a cheep way to own a Mustang, Nothing wrong with that, but to make a V6 platform into a great car takes a wheel barrel full of money and a very strong will. Anyone with a V6 is way better off just driving there V6 and saving there money for a GT platform that can be the car that they see themselves in .
Your comments never cease to amaze me at how irrelevant and full of mistruths they are. The V6 and GT rear suspension is the same. Quad shocks aside, since they rarely work right and usually end up damaging themselves due to axle shift while cornering.

And the guy at Ford who said lets build a v6 stang is a genious, which is why the car is still around, it's about money to them and nothing else. What about the guy who said, "let's a slap a 4cyl in a fox body", it's all about money you moron.

And NO, a GT is not necessarily a better platform, otherwise Steeda and a few other specialty manufacturerswouldn't have used it to build their cars, thanks for playing. The only reason they went to the GT was because they could sell the engines for more, and that's it, not because "it's a better platform".

It's called an SN95 platform, all of them are the same. Learn a little before you run your mouth like owning a GT makes up for your habit of posting dumb **** all the time
____________

Back to the subject at hand, if you have wheel hop in reverse, then get ready to buy a new rear end, because if you're dumb enough to launch your car in reverse, you're just asking to shear your ring & pinion.

Now if this is happening at normal "grandma at the grocery store" speeds, then you have a component issue and need to get under your car and look around. CHeck your bound and rebound on your shocks by pushing down on the car, it should go down, come up and stay up, no bouncing. If it's bouncing, you need shocks.

If that's not the case then get under the car and start checking control arm bushings. If they all seem fine then start checking the control arms themselves. It's kind of tough to damage them, but it's not impossible.

Thats actually happeneing to me right now.

Come to find out the controll arm bushings failed. The car actually sags in the back now.
Have you notticed that yours really isnt as tall in the back as it use to be?

Mine feels like it rolls under me and then feels like I hit a pothole when I try to launch... Not good!
That causes things to break x_x
When you say it sags in the rear, tell me if this is what you mean. i think it is about a 1/2 inch or an inch lower in the back.

What Ryan said plus you can snap an axle (I've seen it done).
