Is there a shift kit out there for an auto 94-98 3.8L?

also how do these work, and would it be a good investment or not worth it?

If sticking with an auto tranny a shift kit is a quick idea. it will give you firmer and quicker shifts. I would also recommend getting a 3000 Torque converter and a chip to help pick up the slack that your auto causes.

already had a chip put in trying to get smoothing shifting. Is a shift kit going to make that much of a difference?

yes, it's make a difference. But not a huge one. It's just like everything else on your car. Your car is basically a group a machine but together as one large machine. So if you put in a stall convertor, it won't work as good if you don't have the gears in the rear-end, or something of that sort. make sense?

I drive my auto trans like a manual 99% of the time. The shift kit is great! My shifts are extremely firm and my shift points are a little over 6k with the limiter set at 7k. [sm=smiley20.gif]
You can set the firmness with a reburn on your chip if you like softer shifts.
