Default IAC GASKET HELP!!!!

I found an old gasket off of our old Jimmy that i've been slowly working on for a while. So I figured I could do the IAC gasket trick with it. Anyways, it didn't work out. SOmething about it was weird...the car idled really rough and then died. So I put my dr pepper can gasket back on there and didn't lign up the bottom hole for the screw, so now when I crank it up it sounds like it has a supercharger. It's really cool actually. So do you guys think I should leave it like that or should I take it back off and lign it up properally?

Well I assume it sounds like a supercharger because it's not sealing properly... I'd probably fix it just in case...

I would fix it because it's not right and it will probably throw a code.
