V6 engine? problems help
ORIGINAL: the_1
I have an 01 v6 auto. Recently when I accelerate between 1500 and 3000 rpm the engine feels like it wants to stall(it jolts/doesnt respond). Because I already changed my plugs & wires, & i also cleaned the injectors with injector fluid cleaner, my mechanic says it might be the timing belt or the computer. Have any of you guys had this problem or have any suggestions... thanks.

Check your firing order

Do a flush but DO NOT use that BG additive crap. It swells the seals inside your trans. BG tried to get us to use their product at the dealership I work at, we sent them packing.
But the way the flush machine works- is there are 2 containers 1 with new fluid and the other will be empty. You hook up the linesfromthe "flush" machine to the cooler lines and start the car. While its running one line sucks in new fluid and the other pumps out the old fluid into the empty container. Eventually all the old fluid is pumped out (by the transmissions pump), and that way all of the fluid is replaced.
As for the comment about draining the pan and the convertor, good luck with that. New cars dont have a drain plug on the convertor, and even if they did not all of the fluid gets out, some is left between the vaines inside the TC.

Is your SES light on? Even if it isn't, run an OBDII scanner through it. You could still be misfiring, even after replacing the spark plugs and wires. Check the coil pack, you could have a bad coil.
