bti intercooler
When you use a supercharger or a turbocharger to increase air flow, you also end up heating it. There is no way around that due to the laws of physics. Hot air going into the engine is not good for performance. What an intercooler does is allow the air temp to drop back down after being heated by the supercharger or turbocharger.
Usually, one is needed with a turbo. You won't always see them used with superchargers, but it is a good idea to add one.
