i have a 2000 3.8 adn today when i went to start
it the engine would not turn over. all ihear is a very rapid clicking noise. is this the starter or something else?

 

hook a battery tester to the battery with the car on and then with it off...then come and post the two results...i bet it's your battery

 

Sounds like your battery is dead sir.
This happened to me a few times before I spent the money on a new battery.

A good jump or battery will do the trick.

it was rated at 1600 +hp? up where the air is real thin
