Default Exhaust Tip Idea

I owned two V6 New Edges over the past few years, and I still cannot get used to the silly looking exhaust tip behind the bumper cover. I had the idea to make a cut out in the bumper, cut off the exhisting tip and straighten the pipe out, then bolt on an aftermarket chrome tip. If bought these things off ebay:

Anyone has any expereince with a similar experiment? I know that I should have went with a dual exhaust and a GT bumper, but I am trying to save money and get creative at the same time. By the way, I am planning to cut a half circle in the bumper. I have seen people just cutting a tiny bit off the bumper, but I think cutting a larger hole would give a better look.

Also, would bending the existing tip a little affect performance in any way since the pipe might get a little tighter when bent?

There are a few people that have done cutouts on their bumpers to accomodate straight tips out the back. Just be sure to drill a pilot hole from the outside of the bumper and cut your hole from the outside as well. Use tape to cover the area surrounding the hole and where the hole saw will actually be going through so as not to damage any paint or cause any flaking.

and no. Just don't pinch it.
