How much power can our stock trannys hold? For say..... a new engine?

 

Stock prolly 350??? I would suggest a shiftkit and stall anyways

 

4Rs or t5s?

 

+1 the t5 can only handle 275 ft/lbs of torque as stated by the manufacturer. I'm not sure about the 4r, but it is the same tranny as in the GT so I imagine quite a bit of power.

 

4r70s were also used in fseries trucks i believe,

 

I remember being told 350 one time, so thats what i have kinda figured it was. I already have a clutch, so im not worried about that. But if i get a enw engine im only getting either a 310-325 crate motor or at LEAST a v8 from a gt

 

so im guessing its safe to say our trannys would be able to handle 325hp safely for a while right?

 

yes but only the 4R70 will link up to the 4.6 t5 wont you need a t45 or t3650 or a t56 or TKO
