I was about to place the order for the FRPP 4.10 Gears, T-Lok 7.5', and the Bearing kit... now, i was reading that i can swap out the stock Girdle Rear End to an 8.8,if i DO swap it to that,does this mean that the gears, t-lok, and bearing kit have to be "for the 8.8" or do i STILL purchase the 7.5?

besides all the stuff listed above, am i missing any other things to go along with them? or will i be okay with that?

8.8" rear end = 8.8" parts
7.5" rear end = 7.5" parts

 

The 7.5" is strong enough unless your putting out over 300 rwhp or plan on running slicks

 

if you can do it, get the 8.8

 

Cant you swtich the axles? just the housings are different if i remember. What are you planning on doing with your car as far as power? IMO DO NOT buy new gears, you can get them for $25 from a junkyard that will do the same thing.

 

i actually am buying new gears.. FRPP, i found a website that is selling 4.10 gears for $94 and T-Lok for $180.

i know that getting used gears would be the same, but i can NOT pass up a NEW set for that price... thanks for clearing the clouds guys..
