Default Quick gears question

What's the difference between 4.10 and 3.73 gears? i'm assuming there is a difference, just don't know what it is.

Well 4:10 is lower, it will get you off the line faster, and rpms will be up a bit higher. Not reccomended for highway driving if you do it alot. They really get you up and goin. Also smart to install a locker(posi unit) at the same time

Sounds like 3.73 is the way to go since I do drive more than just around town. Thanks

3.73 is for manual, 4.10 is for auto trannys.

Go to a drivetrain shop and have them done by a pro. It's not a DIY job, and takes skill andexperience to do properly.

If you run 3.73's with a stick and 4.10's with an auto then gas mileage really isn't that affected, it may be 1 or 2 mpg highway on long trips.

Ok I'm thinking of things that I am going to be modifying once i get what I want when i get out of college in may of next year Not sure still whether to get a 5.0 GT, Cobra or a 4.6L. I keep getting all these different opinions on the engines. No one can give me one straight answer hehe. I am really wanting a nice car, one that I can 'make my own' and mod the way I want, when I learn exactly what the mods are

So in any manual tranny mustang you would use 3.73 and not the 3.55's? I'm not gonna go any older than a 1994 so...
