Default SC gurus in here please. Tuning issues

We put the procharger on wednesday. Thursday we started dyno tuning the car. We couldnt finish tuning it because my MAF was pegging. Rob suggested I use a GT MAF and said a lightning MAF would be to big.. Will a GT MAF be good? What should I use? He had a MAF from a GT sitting around the shop that we were going to try but couldnt b/c we had nothing to make the fittings it work. Where can Iget a GT MAF with the adapter/fittings towork with my intake pipes?

Also. Since we put in the bigger fuel pump the gas needle in the fuel guagetakes extremely longer than usual to rise upto the filllevel whenIput gas in. Whats causing that? Is the floater in the tank sticking? Or maybe something electronic with the wires or a computer issue due to the new tuning? Has anyone else had this problem when putting a new fuel pump in? The needle is really slow to move up?

what year car???

as long as the guage reads full when full who cares how long it takes to read full.

are you trying to reuse the stock MAF???

you might get by with it on a pre 99 but not likely.

a lightning MAF will work OK but i suggest an SCT bigair MAF from vmptuning.com.

what size injectors are you using??

Yeah. I was. But not now.

42Lb injectors.

Why not a GT unit?

I just want to know what the hell is wrong. It works. But its slow to read the fuel level. Want to know whats causing it.

And will VMPs MAF include the reducers Ill need to make it work in my intake tubing.

you can try the GT MAF but it might get pegged too. a lightning is better but you might still need an extender.

contact justin at vmptuning.com

he can guide you to the correct MAF setup.

the injectors are correct and i assume you are running a 310lph ford fuel pump.

the MAF is the only thing holding you up right now. as far as the fuel gauge not responding as quick it's either the characteristic of the new pump/sender or you have a float that is going bad and taking in fuel. most likely it's just the new sender

As for the as an extender. We had one hooked up. But then we pulled it b/c it made the car run to rich, even at its lowest setting. It wouldnt benefit me according to the guys at the shop while we were playing with it. They said it would only help if my car was running lean. Which its not. So will I need it with the new MAF?

BTW. He also had one of those SCT big air MAFs laying around. But he immediately said that would be too big. Isnt that alittle over kill?

nope the big air is a good unit. you can also use a 05+GT MAF with a mafia extender. if your stock MAF was pegged that means it's about to lean the injectors out
