cool... but will there be a noticeable difference between the previously covered painted compared to the regular surrounding paint?

Durr727: Those are very nice 18" Bullits. I was thinking about the SVT line also. I never thought about removing the door moulding but yours looks so clean! I guess that is why I am here (to get ideas!).

ARdoller: I don't know about the top change to black as it is costly and the interior is tan leather. But it is a thought. The top is really very clen (not in that picture - after I cleaned it).

Thanks folks. I have a few months to play around with this. I guess Tire Rack is the place to get wheels? The 16's that are on there are fairly new rubber so I am in no rush to buy new tires.

Tony

Durr's wheels are saleens.

You can get mustang wheels in quite a few places. www.americanmuscle.com has a really nice selection,

Yes, now I see they are saleens; had bullits on my mind, I guess. I will remove the stripe and the moulding since having a look at a lot of the fine cars posted on this site. The last time I got this interested in a Mustang was when my '89 GT Vert was around. Bought it new out of the Ford Dealership in Manhatten Beach, Ca. It was white with a white top and grey leather inside and I believe we paid about $18K out the door. Beautiful car. Things have changed and there are a lot more goodies for these fine cars.

Thaks for the help and the hard part now will be selecting wheels. Actually, the harder part will be parting with the car once my kid graduates! But she LOVES Mustangs!

You can probably find a used wheel/tire set for a good price. SVT, Bullit, whatever you are looking for. Personally I thing the stock rims look fine for the application. Also the used might have slight blemishes, but that might be a good thing, so when you or her scrub them on a curb, it will no be the end of the world ( not the case with some brand-new chrome Cobra wheel.)

used tires are definitely a nice way to save money. i bought a pair of Goodyear Eagle F1 in 275/40/17, with about 3/4 tread left for $75 as a pair. they ran a flat rate shipping of like $20/tire

theres a company thats located in Allentown, PA (conveniently about a half hour from where i live) that sells used tires in singles or pairs on ebay in all sizes and treads. i believe the seller name is like "bestusedtires" or something. ill have to double check on it.

here's a link to their items on ebay, currently they have just under 4,000 auctions for tires, consisting of singles, pairs, or 4packs.

Mustang verts are popular gifts for girls graduating high school or college. Im sure just some detailing and maybe appearance stuff and she would be happykuz not alot of girls i know buy cars for performance theirvalue. Thats why most girls in my area drive V6 mustangs from Sn95s to S197s and most of em were bought by parents because it looks sporty but its still a gas saver of sorts.
