Default Project Car for Daughter

I have a daughter graduating college this winter and I promised her a Mustang Convertible for a graduation present (I know that sounds like a lot!). She loved my 89 GT Vert when I had it and she was sorry to wreck it when she was 16 (Grrrr![sm=boosign.gif]).

Partially my fault, I let her drive it. So, I got the car in the picture and I will be driving it for the next 4 months. Its a 2002 V6 Vert with 61K on it. It has a Flowmaster cat back dual kit already. I want to get some wheels to replace the stock 16" rims. There are sooo maaanyy to choose from. I guess 17" would be a safe bet here. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks! Tony

Yeah that would be your cheapest option, so nice 17" bullitts would be my choice.

I have 18" Saleens on mine, they were $1200 shipped, mounted, and balanced for wheels and tires.

it would make a big difference if you replaced the tan top with a black one and got rid of the rocker decals.

Also the door moldings, to make it look even cleaner.

Durr727: Those are very nice 18" Bullits. I was thinking about the SVT line also. I never thought about removing the door moulding but yours looks so clean! I guess that is why I am here (to get ideas!).

ARdoller: I don't know about the top change to black as it is costly and the interior is tan leather. But it is a thought. The top is really very clen (not in that picture - after I cleaned it).

Thanks folks. I have a few months to play around with this. I guess Tire Rack is the place to get wheels? The 16's that are on there are fairly new rubber so I am in no rush to buy new tires.

yeah i know what you mean when you say its expensive. but i dont understand why people say they dont wanna change their top because their interior is the same color. when the top is up, you dont see the interior, and when the top is down, you dont see the top. you never see both at the same time unless you are right next to the car, so why should the top match the interior rather than the exterior?

i have tan interior in my car, but you dont see the roof of my car painted tan[&:]

if you remove the rocker decals which i've wanted to kinda do... does it hurt the paint and does it show fading compared to the other paint... i guess just a hairdryer or heatgun would work????

heat gun should do it, just dont hold it too close to the paint.

It might depending on how you've cared for your car...like garage kept, leaving it in the sun etc...
