I would just swap over the headers, they should be a direct swap over and you'll be good to go!

Personally, i would never buy stuff from SSM, they're just not the best out there. if you're going to spend all that money, why would you want something that is medicore at best. Rebuilding your engine is probably the cheapest route to go.

Well I guess I know what I need to do this Sunday. I guess it's better to grab as much stuff off the '95 as possible, being that I am going to use all the old '95 harnesses and computer from it. Thanks... Any more hints, tips, suggestions would be great.

The motor is in... Swapped out the EGR stuff, although there are extra wiring harnesses that I had to tie off because it no longer plugs into anything on the '95 EGR stuff.

Anyways, put all new fluids in, new plugs/wires, along with a new battery and fresh gas... The engine turns over fine, but it just won't start. The fuel pump is working... Took the plugs out and we didn't smell any gas. So I am thinking they are clogged injectors, since the '98 motor has been sitting in a garage for god knows how long???

We checked the fuel shut off thing in the trunk...that is fine. It can only be the fuel or spark at this point, right??? We swapped out the ignition pack from the '95 motor (which I know works)...nothing still.

Swapped out the injectors still nothing...

We then used an OBD reader thing...and the only code that came up was for the EGR (no surprise, since not all the harnesses were connected for that).

The compression is fine, fuel pump works, the injectors are working...we sprayed some starter fluid in there and it still would not start. The plugs/wires/ignition pack are all good... The engine just keeps turning but won't pop!!!

It has me completely baffled!!!

Is there an easy way to tell if we are getting spark???

NEED HELP PLEASE!!!

Dont bother man, if your gonna replace the engine then go for the v8, you'll regret it if you get the newer v6....

I'm willing to bet you forgot to plug in some sensor. I did that once and had the same problem. I didn't have my crankshaft position sensor plugged in. It's not really the right way, but I would just pull off and plug wire and hold it next to the engine. it'll arc if you're getting spark.
