...install a shorty antennae? I want to replace the crappy black rubber antennae that was on my car when I bought it with an 8-inch chrome shorty. I've never done any work on a car before, but I'm pretty good with tools and learn fast. How would I go about doing this?

Even with the black rubber shorty, it just unscrews? Then I screw on the new chrome shorty?

Use and adjustable wrench to take the old one out. Just make sure you turn it the right way, or else you risk breaking the bolt holding it in, then you're screwed.
