Default Functional Side Scoop/Empty Weight?

Anyone know if there are any functional side scoops out there? I'd like to add some however all I'm seeing are fakes. Granted they look good but I don't like the extra drag (although minor) and dislike the idea of fake anything.

I can't seem to see the empty weight on my Mustang v6 '07 Coupe. Can only see gross/max. I'd like to know so I can run SCT Livewires HP/Torque and 1/4 mile tests.

There really is no function to side scoops. You can argue it cools the brakes, but you're very rarely gonna be driving fast enough and braking hard enough to cool them.

Plus, they look dumb on s197's.

Like I said not much if any benefit. However they'd still be far better then fake scoops IMO. I like the look however just as I am doing with changing my hood I don't like fake.

Thanks for reply.

for the s197s it would be really hard to do. you would have to cut a giant hole in the body. for the edges, it wouldnt be too hard becaus tehre is already a hole there. i plan on making mine functional sometime just for the hell of it.

That's a bummer. I'll prolly end up saving the cutout for a later mod then.

Got any links or some suggestions on how I might find one?

What do you mean fake scoops. I don't see any scoops on your car at all...

Ofcourse not. I'm asking on this thread because I don't want fake scoops.

I have no input on the scoops but the best way i know to find out your weight is go to a truckstop somewhere near your town and they have a scale there for the truckers but anybody can use it, some places chage a few bucks to use it but they are pretty acurate and you get the weight of your car with you, oil, gas and whatever else you have in there.
