I found this site that has parts. Says its $25 + shipping.

I just did a Google search for odometer parts. I just found the first site that had the part, you might be able to find it cheaper somewhere else.

is that a good tutoiral to use for fixing the odometere or is there a better one

Yeah it looks pretty good. I actually took the blue retainer out, its just held in with a few small screws. Once you get a look at it you'll figure it out. Getting that "worm gear" (the one with the motor on it) out can kinda be a pain, but I doubt you'll break it, but be careful anyway.
