Default CAI IAT Sensor help please!!!

I have a 2001 3.8l v6 mustang. I bought a CAI off of ebay for like $50 ... got the thing installed, but have a question. After pluging up all the parts that i have where they are supposed to go, i am left with nothing to put in the rubber gasket thing. I have asked around and found out that in mid 2001, ford started putting the IAT in the MAF, therefore i dont have one to plug in there. My questions are: 1. what do i do with that hole in the CAI? and 2. Will it hurt anything if i leave the hole open (loss of pressure, false readings, etc.)

You need to plug that hole!!!!! They put two holes in it to allow for both styles of sensors for the 99-04 mustang v6 engines. They located the IAT separate from the MAF sensor pre-01 stangs, but in 2001, they switched to an IAT/MAF combination.

All you need to do it go to the nearest auto parts store and get an airline cap and place it in that hole, so you are not getting debris from the air into your intake.

I am a CAI dealer, so I am quite familiar with it.

yes plug it fast. if you leave it open, unfiltered air can get in and so can Warm air from the engine compartment. just get a plug asap and the enjoy.

thanks guys! thats what i needed to know. I have another question for ya ... the kit did not come with a rubber or cork gasket (like the picture of the one you sell comes with) where the MAF bolts up ... do i need to buy something to go there, or is it okay with a tiny gap in there like it is now? Again, Thanks so much for your help ... i will buy an airline cap today!

You could fill the hole with some silicone. Should seal it pretty well.
